When to start looking for wedding rings?

Many couples find that they have left the topic of wedding rings too late. Jewelry stores, especially during the wedding season from May to September, have extended lead times. Engagement rings and wedding bands are two very different purchasing decisions - and both require time.

Good rule of thumb: start looking for wedding rings at least 2-3 months before the wedding. If you're choosing a custom or engraved model - even earlier. At BELLER, we produce standard wedding rings within 10 business days, but with a busy season, it's worth allowing extra time.

14K or 18K gold - which to choose?

This is one of the first and most important questions when choosing a wedding ring. The difference is simple: 14-karat gold (marked with a 585 hallmark) contains 58.5% pure gold, while 18-karat gold (750 hallmark) contains 75%.

What does this mean in practice? 14K gold is harder and more scratch-resistant because it contains more alloy metals. This is important for jewelry worn daily for decades - and a wedding ring is precisely such a piece of jewelry.

18K gold is softer, more prone to scratching, but its color is more intense and deeper - especially in yellow gold. Visually, it makes a greater impression.

In Poland, the vast majority of wedding rings are sold in 585 purity precisely for practical reasons. But the final decision is yours - and it's worth making it after seeing both versions in the atelier.

White gold or yellow? Differences in care

White gold is an alloy of gold with metals such as palladium or nickel, covered with a thin layer of rhodium, which gives it a silvery color. Over time, the rhodium plating fades and requires renewal - usually once every few years, depending on the intensity of use.

Yellow gold does not require any additional service other than regular cleaning. Over time, it may acquire a delicate patina, which many people consider an added aesthetic value.

At BELLER, we produce wedding rings in both types of gold, in 14K and 18K versions. You can also order a pair where each ring is a different color - such solutions are becoming increasingly popular among couples with different styles.

Finish - matte, polished, or satin?

A polished finish is a classic, mirror-like shine. It looks elegant and formal, but every scratch is more visible on it than on matte surfaces.

A matte or satin finish is more modern and practical. Scratches blend into the overall texture of the surface and do not spoil the appearance as much as on a mirrored surface.

Many couples opt for a combination: a polished finish on the sides and a matte finish on the top surface, or one type of finish on the outside and another on the inside. At BELLER, each ring can be made in any combination of finishes.

Engraving - what and how?

Engraving is one of the most personal ways to customize a wedding ring. You can engrave the wedding date, initials or names, a short phrase, a shared quote, or a fragment of a song that has meaning for you.

At BELLER, engraving is available as an option for every gold wedding ring. The size and shape of the inscription are matched to the width of the ring - a narrow ring usually fits a date or initials, a wider one offers more space for a longer inscription.

It is worth remembering that internal engraving is only available before the final processing of the ring. This means the decision about the content should be made at the order stage, not upon collection.
