How do Akoya pearls differ from freshwater pearls?
Akoya pearls are classic saltwater pearls, valued for their almost perfectly round shape and intense, lustrous shine, while freshwater pearls tend to be more varied in shape and have a softer lustre. Akoyas are the choice for elegant, timeless sets, while freshwater pearls offer more freedom and a natural character. At BELLER, we will match the type of pearl to your style and occasion.
How to recognize a high-quality pearl?
What primarily determines its value is its luster, meaning the depth and sharpness of the light reflection, followed by the smoothness of its surface, the regularity of its shape, and the intensity of its color. The cleaner the surface and the stronger the luster, the more valuable the pearl. We would be happy to show you the differences live, as a pearl is best evaluated in natural light.
How to care for pearls so they last for years?
Pearls are delicate, so put them on last, after perfume and cosmetics, and wipe them with a soft cloth after wearing. Store them separately, away from hard jewelry, and avoid contact with water and chemicals. We will refresh the setting as part of our jewelry service.
Does the pearl jewelry come with a certificate?
Yes, each of our products comes with a BELLER brand certificate of authenticity, and we make the settings from 585 or 750 gold, or rhodium-plated 925 silver. We show you the parameters and origin of the pearls before you make a decision.
Will you create custom jewelry with a pearl?
Yes, we will hand-design it, usually within 2 to 3 weeks. And if the deadline is tight, we understand last-minute purchases and will look for a solution for urgent orders. We invite you to our boutique in Warsaw or boutique in Krakow, where we can choose the pearl and setting in person.
