Custom jewellery Kraków: how a design made only for you begins

A design built around one person starts with a meeting. At the BELLER atelier in Kraków, Szczepańska 9, you see the stones and models in daylight, and the finished piece is made for you in our own workshop.

Custom jewellery starts with a meeting. You arrive with an idea, sometimes still unclear, and you leave with a design that already has a shape, a gold standard and a stone. You are not picking from a ready list, you say what you have in mind and we find the way to make it. You can also entrust us with gold of your own, metal that has passed through several generations, or a keepsake you want to give a new form.

In Kraków we talk about it at the atelier on Szczepańska 9, a few steps from the Main Square. That is where you look at stones and try on models, while the piece itself is made in our own workshop, where we have been creating BELLER jewellery for fourteen years. Below we set out what you can commission, how long it takes, what drives the price and what the price includes.

What can you commission in Kraków?

We make every kind of jewellery from our collections to order: engagement rings, wedding bands, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pendants. A design can start from nothing, from your sketch and our conversation, or grow out of a model that already exists.

The second route is often the most enjoyable. We take a model from the Your Way collection and change what matters to you: the colour of the gold, the species and weight of the stone, the width of the band, the surface finish. For visitors looking for a piece tied to the city, we show the Kraków Collection, inspired by the Wawel Dragon, the Barbican and the stained glass of Józef Mehoffer.

The stones are yours to choose and we do not confine you to one palette. The Witraż krakowski N°3 ring costs 3 550 PLN and carries twelve natural stones: three red garnets, four yellow citrines, a yellow sapphire and four green peridots, 0.2 carat in total. We will make the same design in the colours you name, and you hear the quote during the conversation.

What happens during a conversation at Szczepańska 9?

The conversation takes as long as it needs to and commits you to nothing. We sit down, we listen, then we bring out stones and models so that you see them in daylight rather than on a screen. A diamond behind glass and a diamond turned in your hand are two different experiences, and only the second lets you decide calmly.

The atelier is open Monday to Saturday, 11:00 to 19:00. You are welcome without notice, and if you would like a longer conversation with stones prepared in advance, book a time through our contact page. The same conversation awaits at our atelier on Mokotowska 71 in Warsaw. On what to look for when choosing a workshop, see how to choose a jeweller in Kraków.

Where is jewellery ordered in Kraków actually made?

The boutique on Szczepańska 9 is the place for meeting, fitting and choosing, while the jewellery itself is created in our own atelier workshop. The division is deliberate: the boutique gives you quiet, good light and time, the workshop is where casting, stone setting, engraving and polishing happen.

You collect the finished piece in Kraków or we send it to the address you give us. What matters more is what you can expect from us: we do not order semi finished parts, we create the jewellery ourselves, so every adjustment and every resizing is done by our own hands.

Which stones do we set in commissioned pieces?

Natural ones only. We select diamonds in colour D to E and clarity VVS1, every stone above 0.3 carat receives a GIA certificate and smaller ones a BELLER gemmologist certificate. You will find more on our Diamonds page.

Alongside diamonds we bring in coloured stones, and they are usually what makes a design singular. In the B One N°14 ring we set a morganite of 1.1 carat and pale pink colour from Brazil, in Your Way N°1 a white sapphire from Sri Lanka. There is no second stone like it. A wider view is on the Gemstones page, in our rings with precious stones and in the article on natural precious gemstones.

How much gold does your design need, and what does that change?

Gold moves the price most, because you pay for its real weight. The Barbakan N°1 necklace weighs about 3.06 grams and costs 4 650 PLN, the rigid Smok Wawelski N°1 bracelet about 13 grams and 13 500 PLN, although both are made by the same hands.

We work in 585 and 750 gold, in three colours. A higher standard does not mean a better piece, it means a different character: 585 is harder and takes daily wear more willingly, 750 has a warmer, deeper tone and looks beautiful in jewellery for occasions. Everything is cast in solid gold, and rigid bracelets are hardened so they keep their shape for years.

Can you use gold or a stone you already own?

Yes, and it is one of the most frequent reasons clients come to us with an idea of their own. Gold entrusted to us, inherited from family or set aside years ago, returns in a form chosen today and worn every day. A stone from such a piece can also move into a new setting, provided its condition allows it, and we assess that at the atelier.

How long does it take, and what if the date is close?

We set the timeline individually with the design, because it depends on whether we create the piece from scratch or modify an existing model, and on how quickly the chosen stone arrives. You learn it during the conversation, together with the quote.

We also take express orders and can help when timing is tight, once the date has been agreed with the workshop. Pieces available from stock ship within 2 to 5 working days, so when the date is close there is always something to talk about.

What do you receive once the piece is ready?

Engraving is free with every order, one resizing is included in the price, and so are refreshing and polishing within our service. You do not have to worry about it, we take care of that.

Every piece comes with a BELLER certificate of authenticity, and stones above 0.3 carat carry a GIA certificate. The handover is part of the design too: a branded pouch, a signed protective box with tissue and ribbon, and inside a bag, packaging and the certificate. Delivery in Poland and across the European Union is free, outside the Union we ship by DHL for 250 PLN.
