A screen shows shape and price, but a diamond lives in light: it turns, splits the rays, sparkles differently by a window than under a lamp. That difference becomes obvious only when you hold it in your hand at our boutique in Warsaw at Mokotowska 71 or in Krakow at Szczepanska 9.
Why is it worth seeing a diamond in person before deciding?
Because only in real light can you see how a diamond works, and it is that work, not the carat weight alone, that decides the impression it makes. A brilliant is a diamond cut in the classic round shape with 57 or 58 facets, designed to return light toward the viewer's eye. In a photograph, everything depends on the photographer's lighting and your screen settings. In the boutique you set the stone yourself: you tilt it, bring it close to your hand, look from different angles and know at once whether this one truly is the one. A visit commits you to nothing, but it gives you a certainty you take home with peace of mind.

What a photo cannot show, and what you will see in the boutique?
A photo cannot convey three things that give a diamond its character: brilliance, fire and scintillation. Brilliance is the white light reflected from the surface and interior of the stone. Fire is the splitting of light into rainbow colours, those coloured flashes that appear as the hand moves. Scintillation is the play of bright and dark points as the stone or the light moves. None of these effects exists in a still photograph, and you will see all three from the first second of trying a ring on.
In person you will also notice how a diamond behaves in everyday light, by a window, under a lamp, in the shadow of your hand. These are the real conditions in which you will wear it, not a shadowless studio table.
How to compare several diamonds side by side in one light?
The fairest comparison is two or three stones on one tray, in the same light, at the same moment. Then the differences invisible in separate photos suddenly become clear: one stone throws light more vividly, another looks slightly warmer in colour, a third has a larger diameter at the same weight. In the boutique an expert lays them next to one another and explains where those differences come from, without jargon and without rushing.
It is also the best moment to see how weight translates into size on your own hand. A 0.50 ct and a 0.70 ct diamond are separated by a number on paper, but on the finger they are separated by an impression best judged for yourself.
How to read a GIA certificate while holding the stone?
A GIA certificate is an independent description of one specific stone, and in the boutique you can match it against what you see with your own eyes. GIA, the Gemological Institute of America, is the world's most respected gemmological laboratory. The report lists four features known as the 4C: carat weight, colour, clarity and cut quality. The expert will show you where those features sit on the stone and why the cut, above all, is responsible for the brilliance.
Holding the certificate and the stone at once gives a reassurance no online description can offer. You know what you are buying and you understand what you are paying for.
How to match the diamond and setting to your own hand when trying it on?
The best matched diamond is one that harmonises with the proportions of your hand, and that is visible only in person. Slender fingers carry a solitaire beautifully, where a single stone sits high and works with the full play of light. On a shorter finger an oval or marquise lengthens the look, and a delicate band lifts the stone optically. A setting is the way the diamond is held in the metal: prongs cradling it in a basket, a halo of smaller stones around it, or a row of diamonds set into the band.
During your visit you try different cuts and settings across three colours of gold, white, yellow and rose, and see at once which version belongs to you. We adjust the size on site, and a one-time resize is included in the price of the ring, so even a later adjustment is nothing to worry about.
Can you design a bespoke ring during the visit?
Yes, a boutique visit is the best beginning of jewellery made to measure. You choose a specific diamond, and around it we design the setting, the colour of the gold, the height of the stone and the details of the band. Everything is made by hand in our own atelier in Warsaw, so you have a say at every stage. Full personalisation is the advantage that makes the ring one of a kind, matched to a person rather than to an average.
To that we add the elements that raise the value of wearing it for years: a complimentary engraving, so you can hide a date or a word inside, and complimentary refreshing and polishing service that restores full brilliance to the stone and the gold after years of wear.
