BELLER Guide for Men
If you've just made one of the most important decisions in your life and are starting to look for an engagement ring, the first question you're probably asking yourself is: how much should it actually cost? This is perfectly natural. You want this moment to be special, but at the same time, you don't know what amount is "appropriate" - neither for your partner nor for yourself.
The good news is: there is no single right answer. However, there are some reasonable frameworks that will help you make a decision without feeling like you're guessing. We will guide you through them calmly and specifically.
Forget about the "three salaries" rule
You've probably heard the rule somewhere that it's "appropriate" to spend the equivalent of three months' salary on an engagement ring. It's worth knowing where this comes from: it was an advertising slogan invented by the jewelry industry in the mid-20th century. It's not a tradition or a norm - it's just an effective marketing slogan.
The truth is that the right budget is one that is comfortable for you and adequate to your partner's expectations and style. Nothing more and nothing less. A man who starts his life together with financial stress is not doing anyone any favors - least of all himself.
Realistic price ranges
At BELLER, handcrafted engagement rings with certified diamonds start from approximately PLN 3,750. Most couples choose designs in the range of a few to twenty-something thousand zlotys, and the collection extends to over PLN 80,000 for larger stones with the highest parameters. This wide spectrum is an advantage: the final price is primarily determined by the size and parameters of the diamond, not just the "brand" itself - which is why a striking ring can be composed for any budget.
Where your ring falls within this spectrum depends mainly on four things - in the industry, we call them the 4C's:
Carat - the larger the diamond, the higher the price, and it increases non-linearly: a stone twice as large can cost significantly more than twice as much.
Cut - often the most important parameter, because it determines how the ring "plays" with light. A good cut makes even a smaller stone look spectacular.
Color - from perfectly colorless to slightly warm shades.
Clarity - the number and visibility of internal inclusions.
Understanding the 4C's is the best investment of your time before purchasing - it allows you to know exactly what you're paying for and to consciously decide where to invest more and where to save.
You can find a detailed breakdown of what exactly affects the price of a ring, step by step, in the article how much an engagement ring costs in 2026.

Where to invest and where not to
From experience: if you have to save on something, do it on the carat weight of the stone, not on the cut. A ring with a smaller but perfectly cut diamond will make a greater impression than a larger stone with an average cut. It is the cut that makes the ring "sparkle" just as your partner imagines.
The second area where it's not worth saving is the certificate. A certified diamond is not only a guarantee of quality - it's a document you can show, and an assurance that you're paying for real value, not a promise.
What really matters
After hundreds of conversations with men exactly where you are now, I can say one thing: the amount is not what your partner will remember. She will remember the moment, how the ring fits her style, and that you hit the mark perfectly.
So instead of asking "how much do I have to spend," it's better to ask "what kind of ring truly suits her - and how can I best utilize the budget I have." This question leads to much better decisions.
How we will help you choose
At BELLER boutiques - in Warsaw at ul. Mokotowska 71 and in Krakow at Hotel Stary at ul. Szczepańska 9 - we don't start the conversation with the price. We start with you and your partner: her style, your story, what you want to express. Only then do we match the ring and the budget so that one meets the other.
If you don't know the size, don't know where to start, or just want to talk without obligation - we are here to guide you through it. Without pressure, without jargon, with a clear explanation of every decision.
Because this moment happens once. And it deserves to be perfect.
