The gold jewellery you wear every day lives alongside you: it brushes against the keyboard, the steering wheel, the sleeve of a coat, and over the years it loses a little of its original shine. That is natural and no cause for worry, because we remove fine scratches and dullness in our atelier, often in a few moments. At BELLER we treat servicing as part of the idea of jewellery for generations, which is why we carry out many of these tasks free of charge. Below we explain exactly what the boutique service includes, how often it is worth using, and how to arrange a visit in Warsaw or Krakow.
What does the complimentary jewellery service at BELLER include?
The complimentary service includes cleaning, polishing and refreshing jewellery, as well as a one time resizing included in the purchase price. This means we bring a ring, a wedding band or a bracelet bought at BELLER back to full shine, and adjust the size so it sits perfectly, at no extra cost. We also add a complimentary engraving, for example a date or initials. The principle is simple: you do not have to worry about how the jewellery will cope with daily life, because we take care of that. All you need to do is bring it to the boutique, and the rest is done by our atelier.

How often should you have gold jewellery refreshed?
Gold jewellery worn every day is worth refreshing once or twice a year, and occasional pieces far less often. Rings and wedding bands that never leave the finger work hardest, so they lose shine fastest and gain the most from polishing. Earrings and necklaces, with less contact with hard surfaces, only need refreshing now and then. There is no rigid rule here: if you see that the gold has dulled or fine scratches have appeared, that is the best sign to drop into the boutique. The visit is short, and the effect is visible at once.
What does polishing and refreshing in the atelier involve?
Polishing is the precise removal of micro scratches from the surface of the gold and the return of its smooth, deep lustre. Our jeweller assesses the state of the surface, gently evens out fine scratches and brings the metal back to its original shine, without disturbing the shape or the setting of the stones. With diamond jewellery we also clean the stone, because grease and cosmetics dull its fire over time. After refreshing, a ring or bracelet looks as it did on the day of purchase, and often better, because the metal is evenly polished. It is a treatment that genuinely extends the life of jewellery.
A one time resizing included in the price: what exactly do we do?
We carry out a one time resizing within the price of the jewellery, so that it sits exactly as it should. In rings and wedding bands this means narrowing or widening the band, and in chain bracelets shortening the length or adding a link. In selected bangles we also adjust the circumference to your wrist. The size of a hand can change, for example after a wedding or over the years, so it is good to know that the adjustment is covered with us. All you need to do is come to the boutique with the piece, and the jeweller will assess what can be done.

Do you check settings and stones during the service?
Yes, at every service we check the setting and the security of the stones, because it is the most important element of a piece's safety. The jeweller inspects the prongs holding the diamond, checks whether the stone has any play, and gently tightens them if needed. This helps you avoid the most common cause of losing a stone, a loosened setting that is not visible to the naked eye day to day. It is a short but important check that we carry out alongside polishing. We would rather you learn about a loose prong from us than after the fact.
A complimentary engraving: when can you add it and what do we engrave?
You can add a complimentary engraving both at the time of purchase and later, during a service. Most often we engrave a wedding or engagement date, initials, a short word or the coordinates of a place that means something. We make the engraving discreetly, usually on the inner side of the band or ring, so that it stays your private detail. It is a way for the jewellery to tell a specific story, rather than simply being beautiful. If you are thinking of an engraving for an anniversary, just bring the piece to the boutique and we will do it in person or in the atelier.
Why is servicing part of the idea of jewellery for generations?
Servicing only makes sense when jewellery is made soundly, and that is exactly how we make it. Our rings and bracelets are made by hand in our own atelier in Warsaw, from solid, full metal rather than thin, hollow sheet, which is why they can be polished and adjusted for years without losing shape. Bangles are additionally hardened so they hold their form. Thanks to this, BELLER gold jewellery can be renewed and passed on to the next generation. Regular servicing means a ring from years ago still looks new and is ready to be worn on.
How to arrange a service in the Warsaw or Krakow boutique?
You can arrange a service in either of our boutiques, and the simplest way is to agree a convenient time in advance. We invite you to our ateliers in Warsaw at Mokotowska 71 and in Krakow at Szczepanska 9, where the jeweller will assess the piece and suggest what is worth doing. You can arrange a time easily through our contact page. During the visit you can also look at new designs or talk about bespoke jewellery, if you are thinking of a new project. We will look after your jewellery with the same care with which it was made.
