An oval sapphire of 0.54 CT on a band just 1 mm wide: this is how we designed the B.One N°36 gold ring from the BELLER B.One collection. Gold this fine almost disappears on the finger, so the oval sapphire seems to float above the hand. This proportion calls for precision, because the setting has to hold the stone securely with a minimal amount of gold, also in daily wear. This ring was made only once, around a single sapphire.
How wide is the band of B.One N°36?
The band of B.One N°36 is 1 mm wide, and the whole ring weighs about 1.21 g. The width refers to the band alone, because at the setting the ring widens to the outline of the sapphire. A narrow band presses on the finger less than a wide one, so size 13 needs no extra allowance for its width.
Where does the sapphire in B.One N°36 come from?
From Sri Lanka, where we sourced this oval sapphire for the B.One collection ourselves. It is a natural AAA-grade stone, unheated and untreated, so its color has not been altered by heat or any other treatment. A gemologist describes the 0.54 CT weight and the other features of the sapphire in a BELLER certificate that comes with the ring.
Is there a second ring like B.One N°36?
No, it is the only one: the oval sapphire of 0.54 CT went into this yellow gold ring alone, in size 13. The ring comes in one size; we can make it smaller, but it cannot be enlarged. The gold color and the shape of the setting remain as we designed them for this one stone, with no alternative versions.
