Earrings are the only jewellery seen more often on someone else than on yourself. They are worn close to the face, in movement, through every conversation, so a pair chosen with intent stays in other people's memory. It is also why so many people come to us with a photograph on their phone and one sentence, almost this, but not quite.
That sentence is where an order begins. At BELLER earrings are made by hand in our own workshop, which means a pair from the collection is not a closed design but a starting point. The metal, the fineness, the colour of the gold, the surface finish and the stones are all settled before work begins, for one specific pair.
How do custom earrings differ from a ready pair?
Custom earrings are made only after a conversation in which every decision about material and form is taken. This is not a mode reserved for the most expensive projects, it is the normal way our workshop handles a single pair. A catalogue model can be treated as a sketch, with a different gold colour, a different fineness, another surface finish, other stones, or none at all.
The second difference is practical. When ordering we settle the dimensions and the weight of the pair, and with earrings it is grams and millimetres that decide how comfortable they are to wear.
What exactly can you choose in a pair of earrings?
The choice covers four things, the fineness of the gold, its colour, the surface finish and the stones. Gold 585 and 750 differ in character, not in class. Gold 585 is harder and calmer in daily wear, 750 has a warmer, deeper tone. The colour is chosen from three, white, yellow and rose.
Engraving is part of the personalisation, so an initial or a date hidden on the inside of the fastening is not a separate line on the invoice. The full scope of the service is described on our Special orders page.
Some models were conceived with exactly that change in mind. The Raw N°10 earrings at 4 850 zł, built from two movable circles measuring 10 and 15 mm across and weighing 4.45 g in total, let you decide whether the surface is satin, hammered or matte, and each element of the pair may carry a different finish. In Raw N°11 at 4 450 zł, measuring 42 by 30 mm and weighing 5.13 g, the whole effect is carried by a hammered texture. The finish changes how gold works with light more than the shape of the form itself, and we broke those differences down in a separate piece on gold jewellery finishes.

How do we match the stones in a pair of earrings?
In a pair each stone is selected separately, and the two are then set against one another so that colour, dimension and the way they catch light agree. In a single ring a stone stands alone, in earrings it always stands beside its twin, and every difference becomes visible. We bring in natural stones only, and with diamonds we work at D to E colour and VVS1 clarity.
The scale of what colour can build shows in the Witraż krakowski N°2 earrings at 6 450 zł. On a form 1 to 2 mm wide, weighing 1.97 g, we set twenty eight stones, ten blue sapphires, eight pink tourmalines, two orange sapphires and eight green emeralds, totalling 0.5 CT at AAA clarity. A quieter version of the same idea is the B One N°1 pair at 4 250 zł, with two round silver blue sapphires from Sri Lanka totalling 0.51 CT.

How much do custom earrings cost?
The reference point is a catalogue of one hundred and nine gold earring designs priced from 750 zł to 66 550 zł, thirty three of them set with diamonds. The upper tier of a classic form is shown by the Promise N°7 earrings at 10 550 zł, with diamonds totalling 0.5 CT, twenty four stones of 1.5 mm and four of 2 mm, at a weight of 2.79 g.
The price is set by the same three factors as any piece of jewellery, the quantity of metal, the stones and the labour involved. Choosing a gold colour or a finish does not change it at all. Ready models can be seen in our gold earrings and diamond earrings collections.

Are custom earrings made in silver as well?
Yes, and they pass through the same hands as our gold pieces. Our silver earrings collection holds sixty one designs, all in 925 silver, hardened and covered with a layer of rhodium that protects the surface from tarnishing.
We treat silver as a separate material with a character of its own, cooler and more graphic than gold, not as a cheaper substitute.
How long does a pair of earrings take to make?
The term is agreed when ordering, because it depends on whether we are changing the finish of an existing model or building a form from scratch and matching stones to it. If the date by which the earrings must be ready is already set, tell us straight away, and we adjust the pace of the workshop to your deadline.
Models available in the catalogue ship immediately, across Poland with DHL and to InPost lockers, and abroad through Poczta Polska and DHL. Every parcel is insured to the full value of the piece.
What does a design meeting in the boutique look like?
It begins with trying on several pairs from the catalogue, because the shortest route to the right dimensions is seeing them on yourself. We then talk about changes, look at finish samples and stones in the light, and write down what has been agreed.
Both boutiques, Atelier Warsaw at Mokotowska 71 and Atelier Kraków at Szczepańska 9, are open Monday to Saturday from 11:00 to 19:00, and no appointment is needed. If you would like a starting point before the visit, our pieces on which gold earrings to choose and how to choose diamond earrings will help.
What about service and the certificate after collection?
Every pair comes with a certificate carrying a unique number, and stones above 0.3 ct additionally receive a GIA certificate. Cleaning and polishing that restores the original lustre remain free for the lifetime of the piece, so a pair worn for years can always come back to be refreshed.
One thing deserves stating plainly. Jewellery personalised within the Your Way service is excluded from returns and exchanges, because it is made for one person only. That is all the more reason to see the materials and the stones in person before the final decisions are taken.
