When someone asks us about "that gold BELLER bracelet", it almost always means a particular line, only the name does not always come with it. And the names matter, because each one is a separate idea about form, finish and how jewelry should behave in movement. Below is a guide to every line, with the number of designs and real price ranges, so that it is easier to find the one that speaks your language.
How many lines does BELLER make, and what unites them?
Seventeen lines, from one of four designs to one of more than eighty, and what unites them is the way they are made. Everything is made by hand in our own workshop, from solid metal rather than hollow sheet, in 585 and 750 gold and in 925 silver. Every gold design is available in three colours of metal, white, yellow and rose, and bangles are hardened so that they hold their circumference for years.
The differences between the lines are differences of formal language. Some rest on geometry, others on a soft, organic line, others still on a stone that plays the leading part. You will find the whole span in the gold jewelry collection and in the silver collection.
What is Raw, and who is it for?
Raw is the most textural of our lines, eighty designs built on the tension between raw minimalism and soft, rounded geometry. Hammered surfaces sit next to satin ones here, so that a single earring can break light in a dozen ways. It is a line for someone who wants the hand to be visible in the jewelry, rather than the machine.
Its price range is the widest of all, from 350 zł for the silver Raw N°7 ring to 5 550 zł for the gold Raw N°1 bangle. Half of the designs are made in gold, half in silver. We write more about the surfaces themselves in our piece on gold jewelry finishes.
What separates Cube from Elements?
Cube rests on the cube, Elements on a module that can be multiplied. In Cube, seventy two designs from 550 zł to 7 950 zł, the starting point is the solid and its sharp edge, and D to E VVS1 diamonds enter it as if entering architecture. The effect is legible even at a small scale, because geometry reads from a distance.
Elements, seventy four designs from 450 zł to 11 850 zł, works the other way round: single delicate forms combine into compositions that can be built up over years. That is where the highest price in the line comes from, the gold Elements N°4 bangle at 11 850 zł. It is a line that grows along with the person wearing it.
How does Liquid differ from Round & Twirl?
Liquid imitates the movement of a liquid, Round & Twirl the movement of a twist. In Liquid, sixty designs from 550 zł to 11 500 zł, the forms are soft and organic, designed so that the surface reflects light with real intensity. In Round & Twirl, sixty one designs from 450 zł to 7 550 zł, gold and silver are gently twisted, so that the shine travels along the form as you move your hand.
Both lines run in parallel in gold and in silver, in similar proportions. They make a good pair to compare in the cabinet, because they show how much the direction of a line alone changes the character of jewelry at the same weight of metal.
Which lines were made with a wedding in mind?
Three: Promise, Soulmate and Bridal. Promise holds forty diamond engagement rings, from 3 750 zł for a model with a 0.035 ct stone to 85 000 zł for models with the largest stones. The diamonds are D to E in colour and VVS1 in clarity, and above 0.30 ct we include a GIA certificate, which we write about in our piece on the GIA certificate.
Soulmate is the wedding band line, twenty six designs from 1 950 zł to 9 100 zł, in 585 and 750 gold, each one open to personalisation and with engraving included. Bridal is the most heavily set with stones, twenty four designs from 7 500 zł to 66 550 zł, and covers diamond wedding bands, earrings and tennis bracelets.
Where should you look for coloured gemstones?
In B.One and Your Way. B.One is thirteen designs from 3 850 zł to 38 500 zł in which the stone takes the leading part and the setting steps back to a minimum. Which lines are the most everyday, and which one is for men?
The everyday ones are Minimal, Serenity and Pearl, and the men's line is Angle. Minimal is thirty three gold designs from 1 350 zł to 3 650 zł, chains, pendants and motifs with legible symbolism, a heart, a star, an initial. Serenity is sixteen soutache bracelets with gold details in 585 and 750, from 420 zł to 680 zł, the lowest entry point in the whole offer. Pearl, thirty eight designs from 450 zł to 5 450 zł, draws on the form and the shine of a pearl, though the rings, earrings and pendants themselves are made in gold and silver.
Angle is sixteen men's designs, necklaces and bracelets, from 1 050 zł in silver to 15 550 zł for the gold Angle N°5 bangle, six millimetres wide. On The Edge stands apart, thirty two gold designs from 1 750 zł to 12 850 zł, with D to E VVS1 diamonds and AAA sapphires, as does the Kraków Collection, twenty six designs from 1 250 zł to 13 500 zł, built around the symbols of Kraków.
How do you choose a line, and where can you see them side by side?
The simplest place to start is how much light the jewelry should return, because that is what separates the lines most sharply. The smooth and twisted forms of Round & Twirl and Liquid work with a continuous shine, Raw scatters it into small points, Cube cuts it with a sharp edge, and B.One yields the ground to the colour of the stone. The rest is a question of scale and of how much metal you want to carry.
That particular question cannot be settled on a screen. In the boutiques at Mokotowska 71 in Warsaw and Szczepańska 9 in Kraków all the lines lie in the cabinets side by side, so the comparison takes a quarter of an hour instead of weeks of hesitation.
